Cogeneration Power Plant Moabit
Vattenfall Europe - BEWAG
Berlin, Germany
Since 1899 BEWAG operates a power plant in Berlin-Moabit. In the beginning it was only used for electricity generation, later on it was converted into a cogeneration power plant.
The regeneration of the plant was a balancing act between the old plant, designed by the architect Schwechten, and the spatial requirements of the new technologies at cramped space.
The result is a modern cogeneration power plant and the preservation and restoration of parts of the historic turbine hall.
